Nine Mustang wrestlers will compete at the Junior & Senior National Wrestling Championships on March 26-28, in Fredericton, NB. 

The Mustangs will be joined by five other teammates from London-Western to compete in the Junior (U20) and Senior (over 20 years) National Open Freestyle and Greco Roman Divisions.
 
London-Western is the defending Junior National Greco Roman Team champions. In 2009, the Wheatley brothers, Shawn and Scott placed 3rd and 4th respectively in last year’s Greco Roman division. Elizabeth Sera (59 kg) who recently won the 2010 CIS bronze, placed 4th in last year’s Junior women’s division, while Mustang teammate, Jennifer Nguyen placed 5th in the Senior 55 kg division. 

The National event is used as to select the World Championship team as well as various other international tournaments.  It is also used to gain National and Provincial Carding points to establish national and provincial team status. Four mustangs are currently Provincially Carded for the 2009-10 season.  

They are Eric Jacobson (72 kg),Brianne Barry(55 kg), Elizabeth Sera(59 kg) and Larissa D'Alleva(63 kg). Barry and D’Alleva both won individual silver medals at the CIS Championships, while Sera won the bronze, and Jacobson placed 4th.
