Schedules released for Mustangs basketball teams

June 29: Western opens regular season against Laurentian in Sudbury, with home openers against Ryerson on Friday Nov. 12 at Alumni Hall

LONDON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs men's and women's basketball schedules for the 2010-11 regular season were released by Ontario University Athletics this month and are now available online.

Both Mustangs teams will play a challenging pre-season exhibition schedule and then open the regular season on the road in Sudbury, Ont., on Nov. 5 against Laurentian.

Western's home opener double-header will be on Friday Nov. 12, when the Mustangs host the Ryerson Rams (women 6 p.m., men 8 p.m.) at Alumni Hall. Other home opponents including Toronto, Carleton and Ottawa in 2010 interlock play, and Windsor, McMaster, Wilfrid Laurier, Brock, Guelph, Waterloo and Lakehead in 2011 West Division play.

Playoffs begin on Feb. 23, 2011, for the men and on Feb. 28, 2011, for the women.

More schedules will be available for other varsity teams in the coming days.
