Q&A with Laura Russell
Rugby star Laura Russell (Bolton, Ont.) is one of three Russell sisters to don the purple and white. The 21-year-old aspiring senior national team player shares her future plans to travel and recalls here favourite Western experiences
Q: What are you doing for the summer?
A: I am working as a carpenter's assistant
Q: What is your current major and concentration at Western?
A: Geography
Q: Are you returning to Western for 2010-11?
A: No
Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: a) athletically: Work hard and hopefully make the National Senior Women's Team
b) career: Figure out a passion and pursue it
c) general: Travel to New Zealand, Alaska, Iceland...everywhere!!
Q: What is your fondest memory at Western?
A: Hanging in Lucy's, the dungeon, on the pitch, rugby theme nights!
Q: What is your fondest memory as a Mustang?
A: Making it to the CIS Nationals all four years of my career as a Mustang
Q: Who was the biggest influence during your time at Western?
A: Coach Natascha Wesch
Q: What other offers/options were you presented with when choosing a post-secondary instituion?
A: I only wanted to go to Western - live, sweat and bleed purple
Q: What would you say to someone thinking about considering Western for post-secondary institution?
A: It is a great school, with a beautiful campus and an excellent athletic family

A: That'll stay between me and the team!

A: Pre-game dance parties
