Yannick Harou named OUA Football Rookie of the Year

Earlier today in Hamilton Ontario University Athletics announced Yannick Harou as the winner of the Norm Marshall Trophy for OUA Football Rookie of the Year. Harou's award marks the second straight season that a Western Mustangs player took home the rookie of the year honours.

The Gatineau, Quebec native took the OUA by storm in 2012 running for an impressive 493 yards and four touchdowns on only 73 touches averaging a whopping 6.8 yards per carry. Harou showed his ability to run in between the tackles much like he did his previous two seasons at St. Andrews College where he was named his team MVP. The future looks bright for Harou and with the influx of young talent gaining a wealth of experience in 2012 don’t be surprised to hear Yannick’s name among a few others to be in the headlines week in and week out for many falls to come.

More to come.
