LONDON, Ont. – The Western Mustangs posted a pair of dominant wins over the weekend, defeating Laurier 23-2 on Friday night before topping Toronto by an 18-9 score on Saturday.
With the win, the Mustangs extend their winning streak to seven games and remain in first place in the Western Conference with a 7-1 record. Laurier sits in eighth place at 1-7, while U of T is in fifth place with a 2-6 record.

Manraj Nijjar improved his goals against average to 6.79, putting him to the top of the league with his outstanding efforts Friday and Saturday.
The purple and white spread the offence around this weekend, with
Cody Ward leading the way with 13 goals and five assists, while both Tom Masterson and
Ryan McCrory recorded four goals and four assists each. With four points this weekend, veteran
Sam Neeb continued his approach to 100 career points, and now sits one point shy of the century mark.
After giving up the game's first goal to the Golden Hawks on Friday, the Mustangs answered back with 10 consecutive goals of their own to take control of the game. Despite allowing one more goal in the first half, the Mustangs wouldn't look back, shutting out Laurier for the remainder of the game to take a 23-2 win.
While Laurier were first on the board on Friday, it was the Mustangs who opened the scoring on Saturday, notching four straight goals to start things off with a 4-0 lead over Toronto. Leading 12-4 going into the second half, the Mustangs cruised to an 18-9 win to claim their seventh consecutive victory.
The Mustangs are back in action on Saturday, October 15, as they head on the road to take on Laurentian at 4 p.m. Western will be back at home Friday October 21, when they'll take on the Guelph Gryphons at 8 p.m. at Mustangs Field.
