The Mustangs (8-9) enter the weekend having won three of their last four, including a
73-50 road win over the Guelph Gryphons on Wednesday (Feb. 1). The Western women are currently in fifth place in the OUA West division, two points behind the McMaster Marauders (9-8) for fourth. Brock (12-6), meanwhile, will head into Saturday's contest in second place in the division, two points ahead of Laurier (11-6). However, the Badgers have lost three of their last four, including a 73-64 defeat at the hands of McMaster on Wednesday night (Feb. 1).
Western has the advantage in the shooting department between these two teams, as the Mustangs come into the game at 41.7% overall this season, and 37.1% from three-point range (5th-best in CIS). Despite their strong record, the Badgers, meanwhile, have shot just 37.5% overall this season, and just 28% from three-point range. The Mustangs have had a lot of success on the boards recently, and now rank third in the CIS in defensive rebounds per game (28.4).
Katelyn Leddy has led in that department, and is currently averaging 5.8 total rebounds per game. Western will have to be careful with the ball on Saturday, as the Badgers rank second in the OUA and seventh in the CIS in steals per game (11.6).

The Mustangs come into Saturday's contest having won two of their last three games, including a hard-fought
69-66 win over Guelph on Wednesday night (Feb. 1). With a record of 6-11, Western finds itself in seventh spot in the OUA West division. Brock (9-8), meanwhile, currently sits in fifth spot, two points ahead of Guelph. The Badgers have lost three of their last four contests, including a 104-60 loss to the McMaster Marauders on Wednesday (Feb. 1). In the first meeting between these two teams this year, the Mustangs came away with a high-scoring
101-93 win in St. Catharines.
Western is shooting 43.8% overall this season (35.1% from three-point range), while Brock is at 43.2% overall and 33.7% from beyond the arc. The Mustangs are seventh in the CIS in three-pointers made per game (8.4).
Ryan Barbeau continues to lead the OUA in scoring, averaging 22.9 ppg through 15 contests.
Peter Scholtes is eighth in the conference at 16.1 ppg. Jameson Tipping, Brock's leading scorer, comes into the weekend at 14th in the OUA (14.9 ppg). Aside from Tipping, the Mustangs will have to keep the versatile Andrew Kraus in check. The fifth-year senior leads the Badgers in rebounds, assists and steals.
