With his team sitting in fifth at the CIS National Championships over the weekend, Scott Leitch helped his team overcome 12.5 point deficit entering the final day of the meet with a first-place performance in the men’s 600m event. His time of 1:18.57 kick-started the Mustangs, as they turned the deficit into a 13-point victory and the first national title in program history. Leitch was also a member of Western’s gold medal-winning 4x800m relay team that took first place with a time of 7:31.88
