Western Mustangs Sports

In 2015, the W Club and the Women's Athletic Alumnae (WAA) merged to become the Western Mustangs Athletic Alumni.

Prior to the unification of these two associations, both alumni groups worked on various initiatives to support Mustang alumni.

The W Club was founded in 1957 and represented male athletic alumni and was a recognized chapter of the University's Alumni Association.

The W Club fulfilled its mission by:

•Distributing newsletters
•Running the J.P Metras Sports Museum
•Helping with team reunions
•Running the "W" Sports Hall of Fame
•Organizing Homecoming events, golf tournaments and receptions

Similarly, the WAA was formed in 1987 and represented female athletic alumni. 

Despite operating as separate entities until just recently, the two alumni groups have now combined their resources and passion as Mustangs and will now work together as the Western Mustangs Athletic Alumni to fulfill their mission of representing Mustang alumni and enhancing Western's intercollegiate athletic programs.
