2023 marked the beginning of The Game Plan. Over the next five years it is the commitment of Western University Sports and Recreation to not only meet but exceed our goals as outlined within the Plan.
Our vision for sports is "Creating communities of belonging where all Western Mustangs thrive". This is more than just a statement; it's a commitment to fostering an atmosphere of unity, inclusivity, and camaraderie. Our aim is to ensure that every Mustang feels valued, welcomed, and integral to our collective success, cultivating a rich sense of belonging that transcends sport, fostering a thriving community.
Our mission is "To provide holistic, inclusive, and enriching recreation and sport experiences that support Mustangs in their physical, mental, social, and emotional leadership development". In pursuing this mission, we focus on the all-round development of our Mustangs, far beyond athletic performance. We endeavor to provide an environment that nurtures not only physical abilities but also cultivates mental resilience, encourages social interaction, and enhances emotional intelligence. Through our comprehensive approach to sport and recreation, we ensure our Mustangs graduate as well-rounded individuals, prepared for the challenges beyond the sports field, embodying the traits of strong, empathetic leaders.
