Matovic, from St. Catharines, won a pair of gold medals at the Brock Invitational Regatta in the lightweight women’s double and the lightweight women’s eight. The Brock Invitational is a critical regatta featuring each team from the OUA as it sets the seeding for the upcoming OUA Championships. Matovic took over as the crew captain this season and is recognized by Rowing Canada as a development athlete.

“This is the first time since 12 years that Western won the lightweight women's eight,” said Western head coach Volker Nolte. “Adding another gold medal against all other Ontario University rowing programs is a very special achievement.”
