Takahashi, a third-year kinesiology student, won his second straight Ontario Senior Provincial Championship in the 55 kg weight class this past weekend in Toronto. The London native defeated some of the top wrestlers in Ontario en route to the gold medal, taking the final match in two straight rounds with a score of 12-1.

“Steven actually didn't open up in his final the way I know he can but he finished strong. He's had a long summer season with the National program that has extended into the varsity season. It’s good to finish up the first half with a win and now December will be a maintenance phase with a focus on preparing for the second half.”
