Cation, a third-year social science student, was instrumental in Western’s two weekend victories over Waterloo and the top-ranked Laurier Golden Hawks. The Caledon, Ontario, native had the overtime winner on Sunday against Laurier as well as assisting on the tying goal late in the third period, she also assisted on the winning goal Saturday against Waterloo.
“Tara Cation is quietly emerging as one of the premier defenders in the OUA,” said Mustangs head coach Chris Higgins. “This weekend she assisted on the game winning goal vs. the Waterloo Warriors and scored the winning goal in OT to beat the Laurier Golden Hawks, one of the top teams in Canada.”
