Stewart, a second year social science student, won two medals this past weekend at the Can Am Track Classic in Windsor, helping the Mustangs to 14 total medals. The London native won gold in the long jump, jumping 7.46m to come only two centimetres off of the Western record set by Trevino Betty in 1994. Stewart was also part of the 4 x 200m relay team that claimed the silver medal.

“Taylor began the 2013 season with a solid performance and showed that he may be in a class of his own in the CIS long jump event,” said Western head coach Vickie Croley. “As one of the best event specialists in the CIS I have been impressed with his interest to contribute to the Western Mustangs as a relay member and in the 60m. His unselfishness and commitment to team will serve him and the Mustangs very well.”
