Ouellette, a second year student at Brescia College, helped the Mustangs women’s wrestling team to a third place finish at the Western Open this past Saturday. The Campbellton, New Brunswick, native had a strong day on the mats, winning gold in the 48 kg weight class.
"Val had a solid performance at the Western Open and is stepping up leading into the OUA's. Val had three good matches over the week-end, she was selective and used good tactics in her matches to put in a solid performance. I know it's her goal to make the Junior World team this summer and she'll be a top contender to qualify for Team Canada," said head coach Ray Takahashi.
