MALE: Keyvan Hunt, Men's Hockey (Second Year, King's College-Criminology, Coquitlam, B.C.)
Sophomore goalie Keyvan Hunt (Coquitlam, B.C.) made 72 saves to lift his No. 5 nationally ranked Western Mustangs to a two-to-one OUA West quarter-final series win over the UOIT Ridgebacks. The former Saskatoon Blades (WHL) and Victoria Grizzlies (BCHL) goalie and former OUA rookie team member stopped 28 shots in the deciding third game in the series including two great pad saves on redirected point shots. The Criminology major was a key factor in Western's come-from-behind win in Game 2 in Oshawa, making several clutch saves in the second and third periods to keep the score at 2-1 for UOIT before Western scored three late third-period goals to force the third and deciding game in the series. Hunt has emerged as Western's No. 1 goalie after starter Anthony Grieco injured his knee in late November, forcing him to miss the rest of the season.
