WATERLOO, Ont. - The Western Mustangs scored a pair of third-period goals to edge the Waterloo Warriors 3-2 on Nov. 28 in women's hockey action at Columbia Ice Field.

Meg Hewins (Burlington, Ont.), who finished with a goal and an assist, set up the game-tying goal scored by defenceman Jamie Carver (London, ON), again on the powerplay, and Ellie Seedhouse (Whitby, Ont.) scored her 10th of the year in what proved to be the game winner with just over a minute left.

With the victory, Western improves to 5-7-1 with 11 points, good for fifth place in the OUA.

Caitlin Brydges scored on the powerplay for Waterlooo to open the scoring just over four minutes into the game, but Meg Hewins tied the game, also on the powerplay, to tie the game at 1-1. Liana Tennant scored in the second period to put the Warriors up 2-1, a score which held up to the start of the third period.

But Carver and Seedhouse's goals and solid goaltending down the stretch by Jessica Ulrich (Keswick, Ont.) helped Western to victory.

Chantal Morais  (Guelph, Ont.) scored Western's only goal in a 4-1 loss at Wilfird Laurier on Nov. 29 as the Golden Hawks improved to 12-0.
