Lamb nets pair as Mustangs finish successful weekend with 4-3 win

Oct. 23: Western 4 Waterloo 3

WATERLOO, Ont. - Captain Kyle Lamb (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) led the Mustangs squad with two goals as Western defeated the Waterloo Warriors 4-3 on Oct. 23.

Remaining Western goals were scored by Kevin Baker (Georgetown, Ont.) and Jason Furlong (London, Ont.). Tyler Moir scored two of the Warrior’s three goals, the third goal notched by Steve Whitley.

Netminder Anthony Grieco (Brampton, Ont.) turned aside 25 saves for the win, only allowing five goals on  54 shots for the weekend.

With tonight’s victory the Mustangs remain in first place in the OUA West division, one point ahead of the Laurier Hawks, who Western stole two points from with a 7-2 on Friday night.

Western (4-0-1) will travel to Brock University on Oct.27. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
