LONDON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs disposed of the McMaster Marauders 3-1 on Saturday evening at Alumni hall. The Mustangs built a quick two set lead winning 25-23 and 25-19 before a lapse in the third. McMaster took that set 25-13 before the Mustangs responded to win 25-17 in the fourth set.
Alan Screaton led the Mustangs attack with 13 kills and 3 aces. Mathieu Poulin had a huge fourth set with six kills in that set and 11 overall.
The first set was a battle with both teams trading points throughout. Neither team could establish a run and a great kill by Halpenny and then a good serve allowed the Mustangs to edge out a 25-23 win.
