LONDON, Ont. - Katelyn Leddy scored a game-high 18 points and added five rebounds as the Western Mustangs used stingy defence to hammer the Toronto Varsity Blues 90-43 at Alumni Hall on Saturday night.
With the win, Western, ranked No. 4 in the CIS, improves to 4-0.
Jenny Vaughan added 12 points and five rebounds, while Jacklyn Selfe tallied 13 points and six boards.
Matteke Hutzler added 10 points and seven rebounds in the win.
Western's defence held Toronto to 22 per cent shooting, while the Mustangs shot 61 per cent from the floor, going 73 per cent in the second half on 16-for-22 shooting.
Outscoring Toronto 38-8 in the paint and 22-9 in points off turnovers, Western cruised to victory.
The Mustangs led 28-8 after the first quarter and 65-24 after three quarters before playing most of the fourth with substitutes.
Western hosts Carleton on Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. and Ottawa on Nov. 20 at 5 p.m. at Alumni Hall and then travels to face the Queen's Gaels and RMC Paladins Nov. 26 and 27 in Kingston, Ont.
