The Western Mustangs lost 2-1 to the York Lions on Saturday afternoon at Canlan Ice Sports Arena in North York. 

Ellie Seedhouse (Whitby, Ont.) opened the scoring in the first period on the powerplay, assisted by Katie Dillon (Oshawa, Ont.) and Brittany Buck (Etobicoke, Ont.)

The Lions notched in two goals during the second period – the first was scored by Katie Ippolito (Richmond Hill, Ont.), and the second by Jennifer Petkovics (Mississauga, Ont.)

It was a scoreless third period.

York had 32 shots on Mustangs goalie Olivia Ross (Huntsville, Ont.) and Western had 30 shots on Sydney Brown (Kincardine, Ont.)

The Mustangs remain on the road to face Toronto on Sunday Nov. 21 at 4 p.m.
