The Western Mustangs were down at half before coming back to win a tight game at Queen's 65-64 on Saturday night.
Jenny Vaughan led the Mustangs attack with 19 points and five rebounds. Jackyln Selfe had 17 points with Matteke Hutzler adding 14 points, five rebounds and three blocks.
Western led 20-18 after the first quarter but a poor shooting second quarter had the Mustangs down 35-30 at the half.
The Mustangs fought back to cut the deficit to three points as Queen's led 48-45 at the end of the third quarter. Western battled back outscoring the Gaels 20-16 in the fourth quarter to pull out the victory 65-64.
Western is 7-1 on the year and is tied for first place in the OUA West with Windsor. They will play their next regular season game after the exam break on Jan. 5 against Windsor.
