LONDON, Ont. - Five tight sets left the Western Mustangs on the short end of the stick, as the Men's Volleyball team fell 3-2 to the Waterloo Warriors.
Each set was fought to the bitter end, with the Warriors squaking out wins in the final three sets (21-25, 21-25, 25-21, 26-24, 19-17).
For the Mustangs, it was Mathieu Poulin (Winnipeg,MB) who led the way with 29 points in the losing effort.
The loss leaves the Mustangs two points back of first place McMaster with 28 points and just two games to be played, one of which is against McMaster, the other against Toronto.
As the playoffs near, the Mustangs have already locked up a post-season position and are now just fighting for a first round bye, and a potential first place finish in the OUA regular season standings.
