Wedemire chases milestone, fourth place already clinched for Mustangs

Feb. 19 and 20: Western at Lakehead, 8 p.m. (www.ssncanada.ca and www.LUradio.ca)

LONDON, Ont. - As the men’s basketball team prepares for their next two road games in Thunder Bay, Ont., Feb.19 and 20 at 8 p.m, they will also be thinking ahead to their playoff run as they close off the regular season this weekend.

UPDATED: Western clinched fourth place and a home playoff game against either Waterloo or Wilfrid Laurier in the OUA West Division quarter-final game on Feb. 24 at Alumni Hall at 7 p.m.

With little meaning in the standings for Western, the weekend games at Lakehead now become a tuneup entering the post-season. Both weekend games with Lakehead will be broadcast live on 102.7 CILU Radio, online at www.LURadio.ca and on video webcast on www.SSNCanada.ca. Zach White and Hugh Mullally will handle the call.

Andrew Wedemire (Sarnia, Ont.) will be looking to achieve career point number 1,000 in his Western Mustangs basketball career this weekend in Thunder Bay. In Feb. 13’s game against Waterloo he fell just short of the 1,000 mark finishing with 14 points in the game putting his total at 997 overall career points.

2007-08          121
2008-09          224
