Bid for nationals ends with 5-4 loss to Patriotes

TROIS RIVIERES, Que. - The Western Mustangs men's hockey team surrendered three goals in 31 seconds in the final two minutesand lost 5-4 to the UQTR Patriotes in the national championship qualifying game.

Western will not advance to the national tournament and will finish in fourth place in the OUA.
Trois Rivieres joins OUA East champion McGill and OUA West champion Lakehead at the CIS Cavendish Cup tournament in Thunder Bay March 25-28 at the Fort William Gardens.

Keaton Turkiewicz (Brantford, Ont.) had two goals and an assist in the loss for Western

Kyle Lamb (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) and Kevin Baker (Georgetown, Ont.) scored the other two Western goals.

Keyvan Hunt (Coquitlam, B.C.) made 32 saves in the loss.
