Men's tennis splits against McGill and York on opening weekend

Sept. 17: McGill 6 Western 1 / Sept 18: Western 5 York 2

TORONTO - The Western Mustangs men's tennis team began their season splitting matches against McGill and York this past weekend. 

On Friday night the men were in action against McGill and lost 6-1. Cory Shannon was the lone Mustang who won his singles match.

Western bounced back on Saturday, Sept. 18 against the York Lions winning 5-2. Max Beshworth, Thomas Young, Dylan Crimmins and Brett Empringham all won their individual matches. 

The pairs matches of Rob Vincent and Beshworth, and Crimmins and Shannon were also successful in doubles against the Lions to score a point. 

The Mustangs will host the Waterloo Warrios this coming Saturday Sept. 25 as they continue their season. Play will begin at 1 p.m. at the Western Tennis Centre.
