ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Western Mustangs outscored the Brock Badgers 26-6 in the third quarter to win 76-66 on Wednesday night.
Matteke Hutzler led all scorers with 21 points, adding five rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Jacklyn Selfe had a double-double, with 12 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and six steals.
Rebecca Moss and Laura Dally were the other Mustangs getting into double figures in scoring with 11 points and 10 points respectively.
With the win the Mustangs improve to 10-1 on the season.
The Mustangs held a slim 23-21 advantage after the first quarter but faced a 39-35 deficit at the half before their big third quarter.
They held a comfortable 65-41 lead after three quarters before Brock battled back with a 21-15 point quarter to make it a final of 76-66.
The Mustangs are back on the road on Saturday, Jan. 15 as they head to Guelph for a 1 p.m. tipoff.
