Ulrich, Ross' goaltending not enough as Mustangs shutout against Brock and Guelph

Jan. 15: Brock 4 Western 0; Jan. 16: Guelph 4 Western 0

The Western Mustangs women's hockey team struggled on the road this weekend losing away games to Brock and Guelph.

The Mustangs lost on Jan. 15 to Brock 4-0 and were again shut out in Guelph on Jan. 16 losing 4-0.

Brock got out to a quick start scoring two in the first period and two in the second period. Olivia Ross faced 36 shots, saving 32 of them against Brock. Western was outshot 36-21 in the loss.

The game against the Gryphons went the same way as Guelph scored two in the first period and two in the second period as Jessica Ulrich faced 37 shots on Sunday against Guelph stopping 33 of them. The Mustangs were outshot 37-12 in the game. 

With the pair of losses the Mustangs fall to 4-14-1 on the season. Western will begin a five game homestead as they take on UOIT on Fri. Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Thompson Arena.
