Weekend home stand for Mustangs against UOIT and Queen's

Jan. 21: UOIT vs. Western, 7:30 p.m.; Jan. 23: Queen's vs. Western, 2 p.m.

LONDON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs women's hockey team will look to make a run up the standings as they are back in the friendly confines of Thompson Arena for two games this weekend. They host the UOIT Ridgebacks on Friday, Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Thompson Arena and the Queen's Gaels on Sunday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m.
The 5-12-3 Ridgebacks are the next team ahead of the 4-14-1 Mustangs in the standings, with Queen's in the middle of the OUA at 9-7-4. With this weekend the beginning of a five-game home stand, Western looks to get on track in front of the home fans.
The Mustangs offence is lead by captain Ellie Seedhouse with eight goals and four assists. Katie Dillon is second with 10 points off four goals and six assists. Michelle Saunders has been strong from the point with six goals and two assists.
Jessica Ulrich and Olivia Ross have shared the goaltending duties this season. They have both performed well with save percentages of 0.906 and 0.910 respectively.
