Barbeau, Wedemire aim to get back at Hawks

LONDON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs will look for a measure of revenge as they get another crack at the Laurier Golden Hawks on Wed. Jan. 26 at 8 p.m.

The Mustangs fell 75-67 at Laurier on Saturday. Western made it close in the fourth quarter thanks in part to 11 of Andrew Wedemire's 29 points before falling just short. 

Wedemire has been strong in the paint for the Mustangs averaging 17.6 points per game on 55.3% field goal and seven rebounds per game. Ryan Barbeau is running the point efficiently averaging 16 points and 4.8 assists per game, while shooting 43% from three-point range. 

With that loss the Mustangs fell to 6-8 on the season and Laurier improved to 10-4 on the year. Western is currently in a logjam in the middle of the OUA West, tied with Waterloo and one game behind Brock and McMaster.

Western looks to move up in the standings as they will head on the road to face Waterloo on Sat. Jan. 29 at 3 p.m.
