LONDON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs used a strong second half to beat the Laurier Golden Hawks for the second game in a row 70-64 on Wednesday, Jan. 26 at Alumni Hall.

The Mustangs got back to their typical strong defence in the third quarter, playing full court press on Laurier. This led to a number of Laurier turnovers and the Mustangs erased the double-digit deficit to end up tied 52-52 at the end of the third quarter.

Western and Laurier battled back and forth through the first part of the fourth quarter with no team able to extend a lead. A steal by Hutzler led to Laura Dally with the drive and dish to Katelyn Leddy to make it 62-57 Mustangs with 4:30 left.

The Mustangs closed the door on the Hawks allowing just two field goals in the final 3:52 of the game to win 70-64.
