LONDON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs will take on the York Lions and Toronto Varsity Blues in a weekend home stand. Western will face York at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29 and Toronto on Sunday, Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. Both games will take place at Thompson Arena.
The Mustangs will be without their captain Ellie Seedhouse, who is playing for Canada at the Winter Universiade in Turkey at the moment. The Mustangs are 5-15-1 on the season, with York at 9-13-0 and Toronto 12-10-0.
Olivia Ross and Jessica Ulrich have been steady in net for the Mustangs averaging 3.27 and 3.5 goals against per game. With Seedhouse's 10 goals and four assists out of the lineup the Mustangs will turn to Michelle Saunders and Katie Dillon to lead the offence.
Saunders has six goals and four assists on the season, including four on the power play. Dillon has four goals and six assists.
Western will face a tough test next weekend as they take on first-place Laurier on Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. at Thompson Arena.
