WATERLOO, Ont. - The No. 3 nationally-ranked Western Mustangs used a full team effort to down the Waterloo Warriors 76-51 on Saturday afternoon in Waterloo, Ont.
Four Mustangs reached double-digits in scoring as Jacklyn Selfe led the Mustangs with 14 points. Laura Dally and Matteke Hutzler scored 12 apiece, while Katelyn Leddy had 11 points.
In total, eleven different Mustangs got onto the scoresheet in the win over the winless 0-16 Warriors. In using a full bench the Mustangs held a 20-12 lead after the first quarter and a 34-17 halftime advantage.
Western put the game out of reach in the third, outscoring the Warriors 30-15 to take a 64-42 lead into the final frame. The Mustangs held Waterloo to just nine points in the fourth quarter to take the 76-51 victory.
The Mustangs will be back at home against Brock on Friday, Feb. 4 as they host the Brock Badgers at 7 p.m. The game will be played in Thames Hall.
