ST. CATHERINE’S, Ont. - The Western Mustangs men’s hockey team used four third period goals to defeat Brock 5-1 in the first game of the 2011 portion of the season at Seymour-Hannah Centre.

Steve Reese (Dorchester, Ont.) scored first for the Mustangs in the second period while Kyle Lamb (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) added two in the final period with Chris Rocca (Sarnia, Ont.) and Julian Cimadamore (Concord, Ont.) adding one. Kaine Geldart scored the only Badger goal.

Brock outshot Western 36-31 but Mustangs goaltender Anthony Grieco turned aside 35 shots for the win.

Western plays host to Laurier on Jan. 8 at Thompson Arena for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
