Seedhouse, Mustangs look to get on track in new year

 LONDON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs women's hockey team will look to get back on track in the new year after a slow 4-11-1 start to the season. Western currently sits in ninth place with Windsor tied with Queen's for fifth place. One of the highlights from the first half of the season was the nomination of captain Ellie Seedhouse to the FISU Winter Universiade team to compete in Turkey at the end of January.

Seedhouse has led the Mustangs attack with 10 points on the season on six goals and four assists. Katie Dillon and Marianne Filson each have nine points on the year. Michelle Saunders has been effective on the power play scoring four of her six goals on the power play.

Olivia Ross and Jessica Ulrich have been solid in net for the Mustangs facing tons of pressure each game. Ross has faced an average of 36 shots on net, with Ulrich facing 35 a game. They have respectable goals against averages of 2.85 and 3.19. 

Following Saturday's game the Mustangs will head out on the road for a pair of games next weekend. Western will be at Brock on Sat. Jan 15 at 7:15 p.m. and then will travel to Guelph for a 2 p.m. showdown against Guelph on Sunday, Jan. 16.
