Crucial game for Mustangs as they Jam the Gym

Feb. 12: Waterloo vs. Western, 3 p.m., Alumni Hall

LONDON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs will look to make a run to finish off the regular season as they face Waterloo at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12 at Alumni Hall in the annual Jam the Gym promotion.

The Mustangs are now 9-10 on the season, in fifth place in the OUA West. Waterloo  is knocking at their doorstep just one game behind at 8-11. Waterloo is led by Cam McIntyre, who is fifth in the OUA averaging 17.9 points per game. Forward Alan Goodhoofd has secured the low post with 12.5 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.

Western's Andy Wedemire is currently third in the OUA in scoring at 18.3 points per game and fifth in field-goal percentage at 54.8%. Ryan Barbeau has ran the point effectively scoring 15.6 points and averaging over 4 assists per game. 

The Mustangs have done a good job getting to the hoop this season and are first in both free throws made and attempted, while shooting a strong 74.5% for third in the OUA.

Western will be home for an important doubleheader to finish the season as they face the Lakehead Thunderwolves, currently in first place in the OUA West. The Mustangs will face Lakehead at 8 p.m. on both Feb. 18 and 19 at Alumni Hall.
