Mustangs take on OUA leading Laurier

Sat. Feb. 5: Laurier vs. Western, 4 p.m., Thompson Arena

LONDON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs are in for a tough test as they face the OUA-leading Laurier Golden Hawks at 2 p.m. on Sat. Feb. 5 at Thompson Arena.

The Mustangs are coming off a couple of close losses last weekend, losing 6-4 to York and 3-2 to York. Katie Dillon scored four of the Mustangs six goals in those games.

Western is currently 5-17-1 on the season, while Laurier is 21-2-1. The Mustangs will look to score against the OUA's leading goaltender Laurier's Liz Knox. Knox is averaging just 1.00 goals against this season.

Dillon is now tied with Ellie Seedhouse for most points for the Mustangs with 14, off eight goals and six assists. Seedhouse's 10 goals and four assists have been missed from the lineup as she is in Turkey playing for Canada at the Winter Universiade.

Jessica Ulrich and Olivia Ross have split the goaltending duties for the Mustangs with Ross boasting a 0.918 save percentage to Ulrich's 0.896.

The Mustangs have two home games remaining in the regular season, both at Thompson Arena. Western will face Brock on Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. and Guelph on Feb. 12 at 4 p.m.
