HAMILTON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs dominated the glass to beat the McMaster Marauders 66-46 in Hamilton on Wednesday night.
The Mustangs out-rebounded the Marauders 45-24 to improve to 16-3 on the season. McMaster falls to 5-13 on the year.
Jenny Vaughan led the Mustangs with 13 points, seven assists and four steals. Katelyn Leddy and Beckie Williams each added 12 points. Rebecca Moss had a team-high 13 rebounds while picking up six points as well.
The Mustangs dominated the first quarter of action outscoring the Marauders 18-2. Western took a 36-16 halftime lead and were up 52-32 after three quarters. They cruised in the fourth quarter to secure the 20-point victory 66-46.
The Mustangs return home to Alumni Hall to face the winless Waterloo Warriors on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 1 p.m. for the Mustangs annual Jam the Gym promotion.
