Following a historic season opening victory over the Laurier Golden Hawks the Mustangs face off with the Waterloo Warriors to end the OUA’s opening weekend.
The Warriors had a strong 2011-12 campaign, improving on 2010-11 by 15 points and only missing out on the playoffs due to a tiebreaker with the Brock Badgers. Like Western, Waterloo is a young team with 14 new players suiting up for the Warriors this season. Leading the crop of new recruits is Katie Dods, who joins Waterloo after playing the last two seasons with Niagara University in NCAA Division I. Among the veterans returning is the team's leading scorer Kelly MacLean who netted 13 goals and added seven asssists last season.
Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. at the Thompson Arena.
