Box Score The Western Mustangs women's hockey team is on the road this weekend and faced a tight loss to the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday night at Gryphon Centre Arena. Despite a close score, Guelph outshot the visiting team 37-18 to maintain control of most of the game.

Kelly Campbell kept the team in the hunt, and was pulled in the final minutes. With an empty net and tension high, Western couldn't capitalize on a scoring chance to tie the game for overtime.
Jenna Lanzarotta from Guelph had the game winning goal at 15:47 in the third to secure the result.
Guelph also opened the scoring six minutes into the first period, when third year Kaitlyn Mora caught Campbell off guard in the Western zone. Mustang
Stacey Scott took advantage of the puck at centre ice and game back with a goal less than 30 seconds later. The goal gave Scott her third of the season for nine points overall in the OUA.
Rookie Kryshandra Green was credited for an assist for Scott's goal, and the roles reversed in the second period when Green managed a goal of her own against Guelph goalie Brooke Siddall, with an assist from Scott.
The game was tied 2-2 at the end of the second period, leaving the final 20 minutes decisive of the close result.
The Gryphons came out of the locker room with a second wind to take the game. Christine Grant beat Campbell two minutes in, but Mustang
Kendra Deller quickly resumed a neutral momentum four minutes later, beating Siddall with an assist from veteran defenseman Michelle Saunders.
In the final five minutes, Lanzarotta squeezed one past Campbell to earn the Gryphons two points.
The Mustangs now travel to the Seymour-Hannah Centre at Brock University to take on the Badgers at home. Puck drop is at 3:15pm.
