Mustangs round up another win against Lancers

Box Score WINDSOR, Ont. - The Western Mustangs men's volleyball team return home as victors after defeating the Windsor Lancers  3-1 (25-22, 25-20, 22-25, 25-23) on Sunday afternoon at the St. Denis Centre in Windsor. Western, now on a three-game win streak, holds a 4-1 record 2013-14 regular OUA season.
 
The two teams put up an equal battle with each set being close. Western controlled the first two sets though and recovered from the loss of the third to defeat the Windsor squad 25-23 in the final frame. The Mustangs closed out the match with the win, continuing their momentum from last weekend.

The Western offense was led by fourth-year Garrett May with 25 kills in the match, while Gavin Taylor and Doug Austrom recorded two solo blocks each. Third-year Matt Silver earned eight digs for the Mustangs.

The Lancers' Adam Thompson and Gabriel Burlacu totalled twelve kills apiece for Windsor and Blase Wasser added 16 digs, but the team could not find the offense needed to get past the Mustangs.
 
The Mustangs return home to Alumni Hall on Friday, Nov. 15 at 8:00 p.m for a match against the Toronto Varsity Blues. Fans from around the world can catch all of the action live here.
