Box Score WINDSOR, Ont. – Riding a three-game winning streak the Western Mustangs women’s basketball team ran up against a Windsor Lancers squad on a winning streak of their own, losing 94-64 for the Lancers 20th consecutive victory this season.

Jenny Vaughan continued her strong season, topping the Mustangs with 20 points on the night. Three other Western players hit double digits on the scoreboard with
Annabel Hancock scoring 12, and both
Laura Dally and
Melissa Rondinelli dropping in 10 points each. Korissa Williams led the way for the Lancers, scoring 20 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
The Mustangs started out strong against the CIS number one ranked team, taking a 20-14 lead after the first quarter. Unfortunately for Western the second quarter saw a reversal of fortune and the Lancers outscored the purple and white 27-9 in the second frame to take 41-29 lead at the half.
Windsor wouldn’t let up in the second half, pulling away from the Mustangs on the strength of 55.6 percent shooting to claim a 94-64 win and keep their unbeaten season intact.
With the loss the Mustangs hold an 11-10 record and sitting in third place heading into their final game of the regular season. Windsor leads the OUA with a 20-0 record, and Wednesday night’s win guaranteed them first place in the OUA West with one game remaining on their schedule.
Western wraps up their regular season schedule this Saturday, heading on the road to face the Laurier Golden Hawks for the second time in as many weeks. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
