After thanking senior graduates Sean McKay, Jack Creaghan, Luke Sim, Andre Begin, Phil James, and Craig Dixon for all their hard work and dedication to the Mustangs, Western sent the Toronto Varsity Blues home feeling ‘blue,’ taking them in a quick three sets on Saturday evening. For their final call of the OUA regular season, the Mustangs will challenge the Guelph Gryphons and the Waterloo Warriors to finish off the 2012-2013 season.

Waterloo Warriors- Saturday, February 9 at 8:00 p.m.

The Waterloo Warriors will host a battle against the Western Mustangs this weekend in Waterloo, where the Mustangs will rally against the Warriors for the last time this regular season. Waterloo currently sits just above the Mustangs in the OUA in second place with a 14-2 season record. This last contest of the 2012-2013 regular season is sure to be a war against the two of the top OUA teams in the conference.

The Waterloo Warriors challenged Western’s other weekend opponent, the Guelph Gryphons, last Friday, where they trumped the Gryphons in a close five sets. Waterloo just managed to come out on top, winning by only one set 3-2 (25-23, 18-25, 25-22, 24-26, 15-13).

The Western Mustangs have exhausted their home games for the regular season and head on the road next weekend to play their last games of the 2012-2013 OUA regular season. On Friday, February 8, the Mustangs will challenge the Guelph Gryphons at 8:00 p.m., followed by a final test against the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday, February 9 also at 8:00 p.m., to finish off the regular season.

Guelph Gryphons- Sunday, February 10 at 3:00 p.m.

Currently holding eighth place in the OUA, with a 4-12 season record, 23 games for and 38 against, the Gryphons have a battle ahead against the third ranked Mustangs.

Most recently, the Guelph Gryphons rallied with the Waterloo Warriors last Friday where they battled for a win, but came up short against the Warriors. The Gryphons fell short in five extremely close sets (23-25, 25-18, 22-25, 26-24, 13-15), losing a devastating 2-3.
