The Western men's basketball team heads into two home games this week when they host the Guelph Gryphons on Wednesday and the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday. Heading into the matchups the Mustangs will be looking to capitalize against two weaker OUA teams to boost them in the standings and position them for playoffs.
The team will be looking to rebound from two consecutive losses after falling last week to the two top teams in the OUA West, McMaster and Windsor. Now holding the fourth position in the West Division standings, the Mustangs will be looking to once again climb the rankings with four points after this week.
The Mustangs have three players scoring double digits and are led by Gregory Morrow with an average of 16.3 points per game, followed by
Peter Scholtes and
Quinn Henderson who are averaging 13.9 and 10.6 points per game on the season, respectively.

The Guelph Gryphons have a regular season record of 5-11 which ranks them fifth in the OUA West Division. The Gryphons have struggled on the road this season, winning just three of eight away games, and the Mustangs will be sure to try to take advantage of their home court advantage.
The Gryphons are evenly matched up against the Mustangs in shots with a 40% field goal percentage, and are on par with the purple and white in points per game with the Gryphons averaging 75 points per game to the Mustangs' average of 69.
Game time is set for 8:00 p.m. at Alumni Hall.

The Warriors are currently in seventh place in the OUA with a 2-14 regular season record, scoring about 67 points a game and shooting 38% from the field.
Waterloo has three players averaging double digits with Jaspreet Gill, Myles Charvis and Wayne Bridge recording 16.7, 12.2, and 11.3 points per game, respectively.
Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at Alumni Hall.
