Western returns to home court on Friday to take on the Algoma Thunderbirds. They hope to turn their luck around after taking an 81-68 against the Guelph Gryphons last Saturday.
Western's record is now at 3-5, good enough for third place in the OUA West Division standings behind Laurier and Windsor, who are tied for first place.
Veteran
Greg Morrow continues to lead the team in scoring this season with an average of 23.4 points per game. He's currently tied for eighth place on the CIS' shooting leaderboard.
Anthony Spiridis and
Peter Scholtes are behind Morrow with 12.9 and 11.6 points per game, respectively. Morrow leads with a 54.6 percentage in field goals and Scholtes follows close behind, nailing home 46.6% of his field goal attempts.
Morrow also tops the defence with 6.8 rebounds, with
Tom Filgiano following right in his tracks, grabbing 6.4 off the glass.
Alex Coote registered 10 personal rebounds in their contest against Guelph, proving he can be a tough force to beat on the defensive front as well.

They follow the Waterloo Warriors, who are two points ahead of them.
Two Thunderbird veterans top the scoresheet with Andre Barber leading the way at 10.3 PPG and Sean Clendinning following at 10. Barber has found shooting success in most of their games, hitting double digit points in five matches, including 21 points against Laurentian.
Three Thunderbirds are leading the team defensively, with Nathan Riley grabbing 4.9 rebounds per game in his first year playing in the OUA. Reng Gum trails behind with 4.8 and fifth year player Brett Zufeit records 4.5 rebounds per game.
Despite losing most of their games with a deficit of over ten points, the Thunderbirds latest contest against Laurentian was their closest, losing by one point. They will be sure to keep up their momentum in their contest against the Mustangs to grab their first victory of the season.
