Western won its first home game of the season last Friday against Waterloo and hopes to build on that momentum this weekend as they host Laurier before heading on the road to play Windsor.
Â
The victory against Waterloo was a full team effort as the purple and white did a fantastic job limiting Waterloo's scoring chances, while being backed by 33 saves from goalie
Greg Dodds.
Â
The Mustangs are now 2-1 on the season and place alone in third in the West Division.
Connor Chartier,
Luke Karaim and
Trent Ouellette lead the team with three points apiece.

Laurier enters this matchup at 2-2, including a 5-1 loss against a Guelph team that also beat Western. The Golden Hawks finished seventh in the division last season, eight points behind Western.
Â
Western will look to slow its opponent's offensive attack, which has posted 15 goals through only four games this season. Center Danny Hanlon and Left Winger Derek Schoenmakers have each scored four and are tied for third in the OUA in goals.
Â
Robert Polesello will look to match Laurier's scoring prowess and build on his two goals so far.

Â
Windsor has also posted a 2-2 record on the season, winning its first game against U of T before losing to Ryerson and splitting a pair of games in Thunder Bay against Lakehead.
Â
After finishing fifth in the West last season, Saturday's game presents a big test for Windsor as they look to climb the standings. The Mustangs will want to prove that they remain the superior team, despite losing much of last year's defence core.
Â
Windsor has averaged 3.5 goals per game so far, though they have only mustered 22 shots per game. This means Western will once again have its hands full with a sharpshooting team that includes junior forward Dylan Denomme, who has already posted five assists.
