TORONTO – A two-goal performance from Milan Beader helped bring and end to the Mustangs men's soccer season Sunday afternoon, as the U Sports No. 1 York Lions secured a spot in the OUA Semi-Finals with a 3-0 victory.
 
With the loss, the Mustangs end the 2016-17 season with a combined 6-7-5 regular season and playoff record. The Lions will continue their campaign for a banner undefeated, heading into the OUA Final Four with a 15-0-2 combined record.
 
Steve Kloutsouniotis supplied the third goal of the day, with Ryan Telfer chipping in his second assist of the day. Francesco Sinopoli assisted on the first goal from Beader.
 
Netminder Kody Thomson was able to keep the Lions at bay throughout the entirety of the first half, with four shots sent his way. It wasn't until a surge towards the end of the second half that York was able to best the kinesiology student, with Beader first connecting with the mesh at the 75-minute mark.
 
His follow up goal came just six minutes later, while Kloutsouniotis recorded the final marker of the day with five minutes remaining.
