WINDSOR, Ont. – Western continued its undefeated streak on Friday night after playing to a 0-0 draw with the Windsor Lancers at Alumni Field.
The tie gives Western a 7-0-5 record on the year, keeping them in second place in the OUA West Division, while the Lancers stay in third at 6-1-5.
Western heavily outshot the Lancers throughout the contest, holding an 8-3 edge.
Megan Girardi got the start in net for the purple and white, making one save through the game's 90 minutes. Windsor's Krystin Lawrence was considerably busier than her Mustangs counterpart, turning aside six shots on Friday night.
The Mustangs now turn their attention to the final two weeks of the season, starting with their final pair of home contests next week against Waterloo and Laurier.
Waterloo is first up on the schedule, as they'll head to London on Saturday, October 15, as they look to avenge a 5-1 loss at the hands of the Mustangs back in mid-September. Following that the Golden Hawks will make their way to Mustangs Field on Sunday, October 16. The two sides played to a 1-1 draw earlier this season, and both will be looking to pick up points in the standings as the playoffs approach.
Game time for the Mustangs contest with Waterloo on October 15 is set for 1 p.m., while the Western and Laurier will play at noon on October 16.
