LONDON, Ont. - The final weekend of OUA regular season play was a good one for the Western Mustangs men's and women's tennis teams, with the women's side going undefeated with wins over Montreal and McMaster, while the Mustangs men fell to the Carabins but topped the Marauders.

The Women's team started the weekend off by defeating Montreal 6-1 on Saturday at the Western Tennis Centre. The Mustangs got off to a strong start by taking the doubles point to go up 1-0 into singles play. They carried this momentum into singles matches by taking five out of six matches to win by a final score of 6-1.

The Men's team fell to Montreal by a score of 4-3. The Mustangs swept doubles play to take the point, but were unable follow through into singles. The Mustangs would win two singles matches, with Mark Jensen and John Drake winning at #4 and #6 respectively. Despite these victories the Mustangs would ultimately lose in heartbreaking fashion by a score of 4-3.

Both teams returned to action Sunday when they took on the McMaster Marauders at the Stoney Creek Tennis Club.

The Women's team continued to their roll of success from the previous day by defeating McMaster, in a modified scoring match, by a score of 5-0. The team won in dominating fashion as each match was won in straight sets.

The Men's team bounced back from Saturday's loss by taking down the Marauders 7-0. The Pairing of Luchak/Soriano were successful in their doubles debut winning at #3. The Mustangs continued to dominate in singles by taking every match in straight sets.
