The men's volleyball team will be looking to improve on their 2-2 start this weekend, when they face off against the Windsor Lancers this Friday.

Coming off of a hard fought 5 set loss from the five time defending champions, the McMaster Marauders, the Mustangs will be looking to build off the positives that they saw this weekend from the team. The Mustangs fought back from a two set deficit to force a fifth set, which provided the team with necessary confidence and grit, moving forwards into this weekend's game.

Fourth year Matt Hooker has been a force on the court for the team, leading the team with 139 assists, while the next highest on the team is four. Hooker has been dictating the pace of play for the Mustangs, and has been instrumental in every game. The pairing of Chris Newcombe and Evan Crashaw have also been instrumental to the Mustangs attack, with 40 and 34 kills respectively.

For the Lancers, Brad Gyemi and John Moate are riding a hot streak, earning 19 and 11 kills respectively in their most recent game, a 3-1 victory over the Brock Badgers. Matthew Pe Benito holds up the back end defensively, as he leads the team in digs, with 48, and leads the OUA in digs per set, with 3.20.

The Lancers are currently tied for second in the OUA west, with the Mustangs close behind in fourth, by a mere two points. The Mustangs will need to focus on executing their game plan, and maintaining a consistent level play throughout every set against the Lancers.

The game will be held at Alumni hall this Friday, at 8 p.m.
