St. Catherines, ON - Western lost to the Brock Badgers Sunday night after four hard fought sets. Brady Fidler and Jackson Bere each had thirteen kills for the night while Nathan Phelps and Evan Cranshaw had ten digs each.
The first set of the night was very close; however, the Badgers came out on top 25-23. Western answered back in the second set winning 25-20 and tying the match at 1-1. The third set was a battle between the teams. Whenever one team managed to get a lead the other tied up forcing the set into extra points. Brock won the set 31-29 which gave them a 2-1 lead in the match. The Mustangs continued to play hard, but the Badgers managed to win the fourth set 25-20 which resulted in Brock winning the match 3-1.
The Mustangs head home to face the Guelph Gryphons Wednesday, October 30th at 8:00pm in their home opener. Be sure to wear your purple if you come out to cheer on the team at Alumni Hall.
